Two of us, one bench, a lot of barrels.

Stave & Spur is Miles and Ana. We paint signs on staves and heads reclaimed from used Kentucky bourbon barrels.

Every sign starts as an authentic Kentucky bourbon barrel stave or head, reclaimed and processed from a used bourbon barrel. Char on the inside, nail holes, cooper's marks, color changes: we keep as much of that as we can, so no two pieces match. Every stave is cleaned, sanded and sealed before a single letter goes on.

We cut each stencil on a Cricut, then weed it by hand, letter by letter. The paint goes on by hand. No vinyl, ever. If it's personalized, you see a digital proof first. We don't paint until you reply APPROVED.
